Whew!

October is such an exhausting, joyful month for us. We celebrated Max's birthday at Oma's Pumpkin Patch and then went 2 more times for school field trips. Needless to say, we are pumpkin-patched out but we really love that place.
We've gotten to see so many people in Max's birthfamily and got so many amazing photos.
If you read our blog, you know our motto on adoption and life: "Never too many people to love our kids."

I just love this photo below!
Max was really excited to open presents! It took us forever because every time we unwrapped it, he wanted to play with it right away.
Sam's favorite thing about the patch is the sand pit. Really. He played in it until the sun went down. Madeleine was in constant motion playing with friends that I didn't even get her photo at the patch.
Max wasn't really into eating the cake at his party. He loved that his highchair was in the wagon (a little improvisation on forgetting the chair for the booster).
The hayride at the pumpkin patch is always fun.
Thanks for checking in!
Cheers,
Christy

Happy Birthday to you!
Happy Birthday to you!
Happy Birthday, dear Maxwell!
Happy Birthday to you!

He is just an amazing gift! I can't believe he is already one year old. What a great year it was! Looking forward to seeing his personality blossom and watch him learn more about the world. Look out--here comes Max!

This crazy life

I can't believe we are already a third of the way through October and I'm just realizing that it is fall--My favorite season! I love cool nights, warm days, shorter days, candles burning, visiting the pumpkin patch, pumpkin flavored desserts, wearing sweaters, and celebrating birthdays.
Yep, within 2 weeks we have 6 birthdays in our family. Our most significant birthday this month is Max's. Our little man is turning ONE! So crazy how fast a year flies by! I find it amazing how much a person can change in one year. To go from this completely helpless, fragile being who just took his first breath, who is seeing the people who love him the most for the first time...to this handsome, opinionated, fun little boy who just loves to smile and give high fives. He is our little pumpkin! So, we're celebrating his first birthday with a party at the pumpkin patch. I confess, I go a little overboard on first birthday celebrations. This morning I was making cupcakes--none other than Pumpkin Spice! I'll wait to frost them tomorrow. Do you think I made enough?!?Other happy news: We just got new carpet! After 12 years, 3 kids, 2 dogs and many parties, our white carpet was officially evicted. White! What were we thinking?!? Our new dark-brown speckled carpet looks and feels AMAZING!

Got to run! Time to finish the details for tomorrow's party and take care of two sick kids. I'm really praying everyone is healthy for the weekend. Ugh... it has been one CRAZY week!

Thanks for checking in!
Cheers,
Christy
