A home (or 2) for me

So often I'm making something for someone else, or to teach a class, or to sell in my etsy shop. But this time, I made a couple things just for me. I find wood houses absolutely irresistible. They have so much potential! I got these 2 from Michael's. The first one is actually a pencil holder.
First, I painted the edges and inside a cream color. I covered all sides with paper. The blue paper is from Fancy Pants' Valentine's line. The music paper is from Making Memories-- I think this is the most versatile paper ever so buy as many as you can now because its from the Christmas line and when its gone... its gone. All the letters are also from Making Memories. I inked all the edges, embellished it with lace, chipboard, bling, paper lace, and a vintage-style image. When my kids are being sweet, I think the picture sort of looks like Maddie and Sam. But on hell days, like today, they are definitely someone else's kids!
This project will just be decorating the house for Valentine's Day. At CHA, I was hoping to score some of Maya Road's sheer birds for my little love birds but... no dice. I'll have to buy them like the rest of the world when they're out. Don't you love the roof? I got this idea to use my Fiskar's border punch from Katie Watson. She's used it on the roof of a house and even on the cover of a mini-album. So creative! I think this is going to be the year of "Use what you have but be creative in a new way" kind of year. Thanks for checking in! Have a great weekend!
Cheers,
Christy
